Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer Rajagopal Sunkara inspected the Mettupalayam Bus Stand and checked on the sanitary activities carried out by the front line workers on Wednesday. He also gave the necessary instructions to be followed by the frontline workers.
He instructed all the staff to abide by the COVID protocols such as wearing facemasks, using hand sanitisers and properly maintaining the records of people who have the COVID symptoms.
He then instructed them to create awareness among the people regarding dengue and check on the preventive measures to be taken such as clearing the waste materials and avoiding stagnation of water from the houses.
He then inspected the water drainage sewers constructed at Jeeva Nagar at a cost of Rs 5.2 crores.
He also instructed the workers there to finish off the remaining construction works as early as possible in order to prevent the stagnation of rainwater.
Following this, the Commissioner inspected the water tank in Jai Nagar and ordered the engineers of the TWAD to rectify the water leakage problem in the drinking water supply chain that connects Koundampalayam, Vadavalli and Veerakeralam.
Assistant Commissioner(West) Sivasubramaniyam, Assistant Executive Engineer HEmalatha, Assistant ENgineer Uththaman, Junior Engineer Rajesh Venugopal and other corporation officials were also present during the inspection.
