The Commissioner of Coimbatore Corporation and Special Officer P. Kumaravel Pandian IAS visited and inspected the sanitation work being carried out in the western zones of Coimbatore Corporation today.
The Corporation Commissioner inspected the sanitation works that are underway in the West Zone including Saibaba Colony, Ward No.11, 6th Street, Maniyam Velappar Road, Ammasai Road, Ward No.12, Maniyam Maruthukutty Street, KK Puthur, Chinnappan Road, Coptic Colony and Collector Sivakumar Road.
They also inspected the repair works that are being done to clear off the blockages in the rainwater drainage canals and the mosquito repellent spraying works. He then told the people in the area not to dump garbage on the roadsides and water drains, and to separate the biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes before giving it to the sanitation workers.
“Ahead of Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in 2021, the Code of Conduct for Elections is in force and it is prohibited to post notices, posters, leaflets or write on the walls in the areas of Coimbatore Corporation,” he said.
Municipal Engineer A. Lakshmanan, Executive Engineer (Smart City) Saravanakumar, Zonal Health Officer Gunasekaran and work supervisors, health inspectors and corporation officials were present during the inspection.
