Corona: More asymptomatic cases reported

The district witnessed more number of asymptomatic corona cases in recent days. In Chidambaram Colony, Erode, 4 persons living in the same house were infected with corona.

Another person on the same street was also confirmed to have been infected.

Similarly, a one-year-old child was confirmed infected at Sampath Nagar, Erode. Tests were then performed on the child’s parents and those in contact with them.

Corona experiments were carried out at more than ten locations in the area. Officials led by Erode Corporation Commissioner Ilangovan inspected various parts of the corporation.

They then inspected whether the shops were operating in compliance with the safety measures announced by the government.

The health officials said that the corona cases were increasing at alarming level in Erode district also. On Saturday, an highest 331 cases were reported and of which 115 were from Erode town where normally 40-50 cases alone were reported so far.

Significantly, most of the cases did not have symptoms like fever, cold, cough. Rather, a few persons reported diarrhoea. After testing in the screening centre, the affected isolated themselves in their homes, they noted.

POLICE CASES: Meanwhile, Erode Police registered 300 cases for violating the night curfew norms during the past 4 days.

The police tightened vigil in 14 check posts and 34 places and registered cases on those who did not close the shops and who were moving in vehicles unnecessarily.
