Corona: IMA leader seeks total lock down

Dr. KM Abul Hasan, National President, Young Physicians Wing of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) said that as children under the age of 12 in Tamil Nadu were also afflicted with corona, total lock down should be immediately announced and all be vaccinated on warfooting manner.

He told reporters in Erode on Thursday: “The surge of corona cases is unpredictable.

Now there is a shortage of bed in many hospitals.

In this situation it is very important to control the spread of the disease.

The only way to control it is enforcing total lock down.

In Tamil Nadu, only 1 to 2 percent of the population has been vaccinated against corona.

The vaccine was initially administered by private hospitals.

Now, it is given only in government hospitals.
Thus there is a situation where those who have been vaccinated first have to wait for the second vaccination.

It has been announced that all over the age of 18 would be vaccinated from May 1, but it has not yet been enforced.

We are in the biggest crisis right now.

The current 2nd wave is increasing the incidence of corona infection among children under 12 years of age.

According to a list released by the government on Wednesday, 700 children under the age of 12 were affected in a single day.

So, this should not be taken lightly.

Therefore, a complete lock down is must.

The corona vaccine should also be given to all without delay, he pleaded.
