Collector inspects vote counting centre

Erode
District Collector C. Kathiravan inspected the security aspects in the IRTT engineering college, Chithodu, where votes of 6 Assembly segments would be counted on May 2.


In the Assembly poll, held on April 6, 2741 polling stations were set up in Erode East, Erode West, Modakkurichi, Perundurai, Bhavani, Anthiyur, Gobichettipalayam and Bhavanisagar (reserve) constituencies in the district.

Following this, the EVMs used in the poll have been sealed and kept in a separate room with three layers of security at the IRTT Engineering and Gobi Arts Colleges.


Officers are deployed for security at the counting centre and work on rotation basis. In addition, a total of 128 CCTV cameras, including 96 CCTV cameras at the IRTT College and 32 CCTV cameras at the Gobi College were kept and being monitored through 16 LED at 8 LED TVs to monitor the counting centres.
