Electronic voting machines (EVMs) for the six assembly constituencies of Erode East, West, Modakkurichi, Perundurai, Bhavani and Anthiyur in Erode District would be kept in the IRTT College of Engineering, Chithodu where counting of votes is to take place on May 2.
District Election Officer and Collector C. Kathiravan and Election General Observer Yogesh Kumar visited the premises and inspected the security arrangements.
The room where the EVMs would be kept, the security for it, the places where the votes would be counted and the officers and agents staying places were inspected by them.
Then, they inspected the basic facilities like drinking water, electricity and toilets there and ordered to carry out some works to further improve the facilities.
They visited the parking lot, the booth agents’ room, the media center, the district election officer’s office, the visitors’ room, and the rooms where the EVMs would be finally placed. SPThangathurai, PWD Engineer Ravi Kumar and many others participated the inspection.
