A 31-year-old CNC operator in Coimbatore died by suicide due to the frustration created out of joblessness.
Anandan (31) from Ashtalakshmi Nagar next to Sundarapuram in Coimbatore worked as a CNC operator. He has been suffering from a lack of a proper job for the past one year due to the curfew. He has been unable to pay rent for the last three months.
In this situation, he left his wife and his children with his grandmother at home and came back home. Anandan died by suicide after hanging himself at home. Incidentally, his nephew came home and knocked on the door. Since there was no response for quite some time, he looked through the window.
Then he was shocked to see Anand dead. They later lodged a complaint at the Podanur police station. Following the complaint, the police went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it for autopsy. The case is being investigated. It is noteworthy that the number of suicides in the state is increasing considerably as many have lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
It is very obvious that the financial instability pushes the lower-middle class to the fringes of life.
