CM MK Stalin has directed the Collectors to implement the poll promises of DMK, given for each district after collecting people’s views before poll, without delay, said Housing Minister S Muthusamy.
Distributing various benefits under various departments to 14500 petitioners under the Ungal Thogithiyil Mudalamaichar (UTM) scheme at the collectorate on Friday, he said 3646 petitions given under the scheme was under process.
Altogether 40000 petitions were received under the scheme. So the officials should consider the rest, including the rejected petitions, also without delay in order to fulfill the expectations of poor petitioners.
He said that the CM assured to help all petitioners within 100 days. He said apart from individuals’ petitions, petitions related to public issues like roads, water, civic amenities etc should also be disposed without delay.
Besides, the DMK released its poll manifesto for each district separately after collecting public views. As no separate instruction could be given to officials to enforce the promises, the CM tabled the promises in the cabinet meeting and got approval for them as the CM’s special scheme and issued a GO directing Collectors and officials to take action on them.
So, the officials were talking action on the promises given for long term development of the district.
Compared to the developed districts like Coimbatore, Madurai and Tiruchi, Erode district is far short of many infrastructure.
We all should work together to fulfill the promises for further development of the district, he pleaded. Collector H Krishnaunni, MLA AG Venkatachalam, DRO Dr Murugesan and many officials attended the function.
