Centre allots Rs 15000 cr for agro industries


The Central government has allotted Rs 15,000 crore to Animal Husbandry Department under the Infrastructure Development Fund to set up milk, meat and poultry processing units, units producing value-added products and cattle feed production units.

Agricultural production units, private companies, entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises can benefit.
The project evaluation report should be applied through online in the Udaya Mitra Portal of the SIDBI.

Credit guarantee will be given to small, medium and micro enterprises for project drafts coming under the defined ceiling.
The scheme can be used to start and expand fodder production units, dairy, milk powder, meat processing, ice cream units and units producing other value added products in livestock sector.
