BIT bags prize in International Competition

A team of four students of Bannari Amman Institute of Technology (BIT) from the Robotics and Automation Laboratory has won Third prize worth 150 Euro in the MathWorks Minidrone Competition – EMEA 2021.

The team ‘The Game Changers’ comprised 4 students, including Abishek R, Karthik Balaji M, Kabilan V S and Susinderan K. They competed against 8 international competitors, which included participants from reputed institutions, including the University of Oxford (UK), Sungkyunkwan University (South Korea), Universita Politecnicadelle Marce (Italy), Imperial College London (UK), Delhi Technological University (India) and Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (India).

The students designed navigation algorithm using MATLAB – Simulink to fly a minidrone in real-time.
The designed controller has been implemented in minidrone to follow on the desired track.
