Attempt made to break ATM to loot cash at Salem

The Salem City Police have launched a search for a man who tried to break open the State Bank of India’s ATM on the Omalur Road near TVS Showroom today morning.


The ATM was found tampered when a person tried to take cash at about 2.30 am on Sunday.


He informed the Pallapatti Police Station after which the Inspectors Nithya, DeivaSigamani, came to the place and conducted investigations.


It was found the unidentified persons had entered the ATM cabin at 2.00 am.


He had tried to break open the machine but it got self-locked.

On seeing the movement of people on the road, the had moved away.

The camera has recorded the person who was wearing a mask but the photo record of the person is in an identifiable state.

A case has been booked and an intensive search has been launched for the culprit.
