Ahead of the Assembly election in Tamil Nadu that is set to be conducted on April 6, the nomination filing process began on March 12.
In that regard, many of the key political leaders including Chief Minister(CM) Edappadi Palanisamy filed their nomination papers to their respective Returning Officers on Monday.
As per the procedure, an affidavit has to be filed along with the nomination papers that elucidate the asset details of the candidate. Accordingly, the asset details of the CM, Deputy CM and DMK president MK Stalin were released and they can be accessed by the public as well.
In the affidavit filed during the nomination filing of Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy, it has been stated that there are 47 lakh 64 thousand rupees in the bank accounts as movable property. It has been mentioned that there are immovable assets worth Rs 4 crore 68 lakh in the name of the wife and family members.
Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam has stated in his affidavit that he has movable and immovable assets worth Rs. 4, 43, 32, 488. He has assets worth Rs 10 crore, 6 lakhs 71 thousand and 858 in the name of his wife Vijayalakshmi.
The affidavit filed by DMK leader MK Stalin states that there are Rs 4, 94, 84,000 as movable assets in bank accounts and Rs 2,24,91,000 as immovable assets.
