Why is the PM silent on US mediation?

Armed militants carried out a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22. Subsequently, India took military action against terrorist groups in Pakistan. In the whole operation, the civilians of Jammu and Kashmir paid a heavy price in terms of suffering, peace and property loss.
War clouds loomed over the region after Pakistan launched subsequent attacks. After three days of missile and bomb attacks, both India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire on Saturday, and suspended their military operation on land, air and water. The announcement was made by the US president Donald Trump, who mediated talks between the countries.
Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the countrymen, Trump confirmed his mediation while speaking to reporters in Washington. He said that he had prevented a nuclear war between the countries by stating that the US would do more trade with the countries if they stop waging war against each other.
Though Pakistan has expressed happiness over the announcement, it has caused embarrassment for India. Though ceasefire is the right thing to do now, India never wanted a third country to interfere in its issues with Pakistan. Hence, there is a suspicion of opaqueness in the mediation.
Has PM Modi accepted the US mediation between India and Pakistan? Has India agreed to hold talks with Pakistan at a neutral venue? Was the ceasefire implemented for commercial reasons? The Union government has not yet given any explanation on such questions. Modi was expected to give an explanation at least in his address to the nation on Monday. But he did not reveal any such details.
That is why the Congress has demanded an emergency session of Parliament. The Congress has also raised the question of whether India will now succumb to US pressure to open Indian markets to it in sectors including automobile manufacturing and agriculture.
Modi deserves all the praise for his diplomatic approach in the war and his victory, upholding the country's prestige on the world stage. If he answers the questions regarding Trump's mediation in the same vein, the doubts of the people of the country will be cleared!
