Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy on Monday announced Rs 1000 aid for women family heads. The announcement was made while presenting the budget worth Rs 10,696 crore for the financial year 2022-23.
The Chief Minister said, “The union government would be extending financial assistance worth
Rs 1,729 crore, while we also receive road funds worth Rs 20 crore and loan worth Rs 500 crore from the union government.
The union government has also granted permission to seek loans worth Rs 1,889 crore from other sources.”As the government receives a huge response from grievance day meetings, we have decided to conduct more such meetings in the upcoming days, he said, adding that steps would be taken to increase the sales of manure in Karaikal and to operate cooperative society’s sugar factories with the help of private companies.
The Chief Minister allocated Rs 802 crore for the education department. He announced that as many as five egg hatching centres would be opened in Puducherry and Karaikal to increase the population of Olive Ridley turtles. Rangasamy’s government would be setting up a forest science centre at
Karaikal, mobile veterinary hospital, a medical college in Karaikal and four health care centres.
He further announced that Rs 1000 aid would be provided for women heading the families aged between 21 and 57 years who had not received any of the government welfare schemes and his decision todigitize all the documents at the temples, to start an anti-trafficking wing and a women helpline at all the police stations. He, also, said that his government would provide laptops to class XI and XII students and bicycles to class IX students.
