Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday said that India has produced nearly 60% of the vaccines used across the world and the country has made a remarkable contribution in the field of vaccination over the decades.
Addressing the gathering after launching the book titled ‘India’s vaccine growth story’ by Sajjan Singh Yadav, additional secretary of expenditure department, she said that India is double dosing every
citizen and even produced Covid-19 vaccines during the lockdown.
"Over the decades India has made a remarkable contribution. Nearly 60% of all the vaccines used in the world are produced in India. India has a singular contribution to make to the world in terms of vaccination and that which is being produced and supplied to the entire world," Sitharaman said.
