Governor says New National Educational policy to build a new Bharat

The inauguration of AIU – Avinashilingam Institute – Academic and Administrative Development Centre (AIU-AI-AADC), of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women was held on Friday.   The AIU-AI-AADC is organizing a 9 Day Short Term Capacity Building Programme on Leveraging Open Educational Resources (OER) for Effective Teaching-Learning from 09 to 17 Dec.2022. 

The chief guest Governor R.N.Ravi inaugurated the centre through virtual mode and delivered the Key Note Address.  He said the New National Educational policy, a vision of Swami Vivekananda, could actually build a new Bharat. Technical and Upgraded knowledge like Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Intelligence, is necessary for the students and the development of society. 

The Indian Education system needs a decolonization of our minds, for the reinforcement of our heritage. Our growth is deeply rooted in our origin and that is to be evoked and taken from our Vedics and tradition.

The center opened today is based on the Vision of Swamy Vivekananda. He expressed his confidence that the contribution of this centre, AIU-AI-AADC, will be towards the Nation's Development.  Dr. S.P.Thyagarajan, Chancellor, presided over the inauguration in the presence of  Dr.T.S.K.Meenak shisundaram, Managing Trustee, The Avinashilingam Education Trust. 

The Vice Chancellor of the institute Dr.Bharathi Harishankar welcomed the gathering. Dr. S.P.Thyagarajan, Chancellor, in his Presidential Address, mentioned that the Centre is the first of its kind and the programme is going to be attended by 56 faculty members from various states. Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, Association of Indian Universities delivered the Special Address. 

The book "Consultancy Potential Manual" by Dean, R & D was released and Dr. Mittal received the first copy.  Registrar, Dr.S. Kowsalya proposed the Vote of Thanks.
