Collector inspects Avalpoonthurai tank

District Collector H. Krishnanunni inspected Avalpoondurai tank in Modakuriichi segment on Friday. It is spread over a total area of ​​196 acres and it is filled with water coming from the Vellodu Bird Sanctuary tank. Now, steps are being taken to run boats and carry out development works including children's park to make it a tourist destination.

He asked officials to remove the encroachments in the area, cleanse the areas around it, repair the drinking water pipes in the overhead tank built by the tourism department, strengthen the tank bunds and build roads, carry out the necessary field survey and submit a report for the construction of the boathouse and children's park.
