Awareness Rally on World TB Day

Nilgiris Udhagai railway station witnessed a gathering of around 245 participants who took part in an awareness rally on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day. The rally was flagged off by the Collector Mr S. P. Amrit. College students participated in the rally.

The rally started from Udhagai Railway Station, passed through Charingcross, and culminated at Udhagai Tribal Cultural Centre. The participants carried awareness banners that contained information about TB infection symptoms and treatment. The rally aimed to create awareness among the general public about tuberculosis and its effects.

Despite having a low number of tuberculosis cases in the district, the Nilgiris District TB Center is striving to make the district tuberculosis-free.  The event was attended by Udhagai Government Medical College Hospital Principal Dr Manokari, Udhagai RDO Mr. Bhushanakumar, Deputy Director (Health Works) Dr Balusamy, Deputy Director Medical Services (TB) Mr M. Sakthivel and many others attended.
