A team of runners carrying unity torch reach Dharmapuri

On the occasion to commemorate the 75th anniversary of NCC, Uttar Pradesh-based NCC official Colonel KS Padawar along with other NCC cadets is carrying out an awareness run from Kanyakumari to New Delhi for about 3,000 kilometers via four-lane road. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to receive the unity torch from the colonel on competition of the run in 60 days.He had started the run on November 20 in Kanyakumari and after running through several districts, he had reached Dharmapuri on Thursday morning.

Sapthagiri engineering college

He was received by NCC officials and cadres of Periyampatti Sapthagiri engineering college. He was accompanied by air force wing commandant S Yuvaraj, Junior warrant officer Jayaprakash, air force officials, the college’s NCC officer Dr Srinivasan and NCC cadres.  The run was flagged off by district revenue officer Anitha, deputy superintendent of police Sindu and other officials.
