1000 MT Bharat urea arrived to Erode

For the first time, 1000 MT of 'Bharat' Urea Fertilizer reached Erode by train under the 'One Nation One Fertiliser' scheme, C. Chinnaswamy, Joint Director of Agriculture said. 
In Erode district, water was released in Thadapalli-Arakkankottai and Kalingarayan canals for Kuruvai and Lower Bhavani and Mettur right bank canals for Samba paddy cultivation. Also crops like sugarcane, banana, turmeric, cassava, groundnut and maize are cultivated. 

He inspected the arrival of 1000 matric tons of 'Bharat' urea fertilizer of IPL (IP) by rail to Erode from Mangalore port. Currently, 3017 MT of urea fertilizer, 1585 MT of DAP fertilizer, 1499 MT of potash fertilizer and 11329 MT of complex fertilizer and Super Phosphate 851 MT are kept in Primary Agricultural Co-operative Societies and Private Fertilizer Outlets in the district. 

Farmers should sign the sales receipt while getting fertilizers

The MRP and stock details of fertilizers should be clearly written on the notice board in front of the shop.  The farmers should sign the sales receipt while getting fertilizers.  
All sales should be made only through the point of sale device and appropriate primary certificate forms should be obtained from the companies supplying fertilisers.

All dealers are advised to strictly follow the procedure of procurement and stocking of fertilizers.  Along with fertilizers, other inputs should not be compulsorily supplied to the farmers.  As per the Fertilizer Control Order 1985, strict action will be taken against for violation of norms. 

In case of any deficiencies, the farmers can inform the concerned District Assistant Directors of Agriculture. Farmers are also requested to obtain and use liquid bio-fertilizers provided in the local agriculture  extension centers and reduce the cost of fertilizers by getting soil tested at the soil testing station of the Department of Agriculture at Thindal and use fertilizers as per the recommendations therein.
