Alleppey-Dhanbad and Ernakulam-Bengaluru special trains to be diverted

Alleppey-Dhanbad and Ernakulam-Bengaluru special trains will run on the Irugur-Podanur route.

Due to maintenance work between Coimbatore and North Coimbatore, two trains will run between Coimbatore and Podanur for 5 days, skipping the original route via Coimbatore main junction.

According to a press release issued by the Salem Divisional Railway Administration on Wednesday, “Due to engineering and maintenance work between Coimbatore – North Coimbatore Railway Station, the Alappuzha – Dhanbad Special and the Ernakulam – Bengaluru Special will be diverted on April 8, 10, 12, 14 and 17 between Irugur and Podanur without arriving at the Coimbatore Railway Station. As such, it will not operate these days via Peelamedu and Singanallur stations. To travel on these trains, passengers are requested to go to Irugur or Podanur stations”.
