Sushmita Dev, the All India Head of the women’s wing of the Indian National Congress, has on Monday resigned from all responsibilities, including as a basic member of the party. Ms Dev announced her resignation after changing her Twitter bio to ‘Former National Member, Indian National Congress’. Sushmita Dev has submitted her resignation letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
It is noteworthy that she has not stated any reasons for her resignation from the party. But she was simply referring to “starting a new chapter in public service”.
She has been in Congress for 30 years and has now left the party. Further, in that letter, “I respect my three-decade association with the Indian National Congress.
I take this opportunity to thank the party, its leaders, members and workers who were part of this memorable journey. I thank Sonia Gandhi for her guidance and opportunity. ” She also said she would further enhance her journey with the party.
