Paramilitary forces have been called in to maintain law and order in all districts ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
In this connection, 92 paramilitary personnel from Chhattisgarh arrived at the Erode railway station on Sunday morning by a special train for the security of the Assembly elections in Erode East, West, Perundurai, Bhavani, Modakkurichi, Anthiyur, Gobi and Bhavanisagar in the Erode district.
They were welcomed by the Erode District Police officers, who took them in police vehicles and accomodated them at the wedding hall in Gobi.
Similarly, another 130-strong paramilitary team arrived in Erode. They were sent to Namakkal district. Two groups of 260 people from Delhi came to Erode. They were sent to the Tirupur.
