75th Independence Day Celebrations At INS Agrani


INS Agrani, a premier training establishment of the Indian Navy located in Coimbatore celebrated the 75th lndependence Day.


A Wreath laying ceremony was held on the occasion wherein Cmde Ashok Rai VSM, Commanding Officer, INS Agrani and Station Commander, Coimbatore placed a floral wreath at the War Memorial and paid homage to the freedom fighters and the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives during the freedom struggle.


AII the service and defence civilian awardees such as those commanded by the Chief of the Naval Staff, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command as well as Proficiency award winners were honoured by the Commanding Officer during a High Tea organized on the occasion.


Proficiency certificates and cash awards were presented to civilian personnel of the establishment for their dedicated service despite the pandemic.

The function was attended by veterans, NCC Cadets, Navy Children School (Coimbatore) teachers and students apart from the families of the service personnel posted to the naval units at Coimbatore. All activities were conducted adhering to all COVID-19 protocols.
