So far 16,754 beneficiaries have been treated in the Coimbatore district under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Medical Insurance Scheme(CMCHIS), said an official statement from the district administration.
The insurance scheme has been initiated and implemented by the Government of Tamil Nadu to provide modern and improved medical facilities to the poor and the common man free of cost through government and private hospitals and to ensure access to health care for all.
To be eligible for the scheme, the person’s name must be included in the family card of a resident of Tamil Nadu. Their annual income should be within Rs.72,000.
In the Coimbatore district, under this scheme, 16,754 beneficiaries have been provided medical treatment under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Medical Insurance Scheme worth Rs. 48.07 crores since last May.
