Ballot papers were issued to Central and State Government employees and teachers engaged in election work in the Coimbatore district in order to facilitate postal voting.
In addition, 19,299 ballot papers have been sent to soldiers and personnel serving in various divisions of the Indian Army for postal voting. To date, 14,868 postage votes have been received from government employees and teachers, as well as 210 military personnel.
The postal votes will be received only until 8 am on May 2, the day of counting. So District Collector Nagarajan asked the employees, who have not yet cast their votes, to send their postal votes to the Returning Officer concerned.
