Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner P Kumaravelpandiyan inspected various development works in the East Zone of the civic body.
During his visit, he inquired the health officials about their door to door visit in the Peelamedu area to identify the fever, cold and cough cases to check spreading of Covid 19 and advised the people, who came to a medical camp there, to undergo Covid 19 test, if they have symptoms of it and follow social distancing norms with wearing masks while moving outside.
Inspecting the segregation of bio-degradable and non-degradable wastes and door to door garbage collection work at Singanallur and Uppilipalayam and asked the cleansing workers not to allow stagnation of sewage water in the streets to check mosquito menace in the area.
He also visited the urban health centre in the ward 64 of Uppilipalayam and inquired the staff there about the Covid 19 testing details and assessed the infrastructure there. He advised them to check mosquito menace in the area by keeping the surroundings clean.
Zonal assistant commissioner M Murugan, executive engineer Gnanavel, assistant executive engineer Prabakaran and health officer Chandran and inspectors Rajendran and Danapal accompanied him.
