Commercial establishments would be sealed, if they do not follow the Covid 19 safety norms, warned Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandiyan.
Holding a review meeting on Corona containment works in the Corporation North Zonal office, he said that many steps were taken to check spreading of Covid 19 including holding of medical camps in all zones and door to door inspection of cough, cold and fever cases.
He advised officials to hold medical camps once in week in the same spot of each ward, besides in the bus stands, shandies, markets etc and collect details of corona affected persons in the area.
The bus crew and passengers should wear masks and the violators of the norm would be fined.
Those working in the commercial establishments should wear masks and maintain social distancing norms and enforce the rules strictly for their customers.
Corona tests should be conducted for all inmates of central prison and the new inmates should be quarantined for 14 days. Hospitals should have ventilator facilities and all should follow the corona prevention norms strictly to free the city from the dreaded disease, he advised.
Corporation deputy commissioner S Maduranthagi, city engineer A Lakshmanan, zonal assistant commissioners Senthilkumar Rathnam, TR Ravi, AJ Senthilarasan, M Murugan, executive engineer Gnanavel and many officials attended the meeting.
