Erode Surampatti police registered a case on 4 functionaries of Anna Puratchithalaivar Amma DMK for violating the Covid 19 safety norms, following an order from the collector C Kathiravan.
When over 70 women were standing near collectorate on Monday, he saw them and gave the direction.
They, belonging to Ponnangadu Colony, Karukkupalayam, Perundurai taluk, were brought by the party SC wing secretary Chinnasamy to submit a petition to the collector seeking free housesite pattas and basic amenities for 40 families who were residing in the poromboke land there for many years.
He asked them to stay there, while preparing a petition.
At that time, collector who came from his camp office saw them and inquired about their visit.
Then, Chinnasamy submitted a petition to him. Irked over it, collector questioned him why large number of people were brought violating the covid 19 safety norms and asked the police not to allow any person bringing huge crowd to the collectorate. Then police registered a case on Chinnasamy and 3 others of his party.
